“First, the therapist was great and I would highly recommend Benjamin Cage. This review is for LifeStance and their incredibly shady billing practices. I called LifeStance to make an appointment with one of the therapists I would get 3-4 free sessions through my insurance. But the guy on the phone was like, eh, that person does not do in-person, why don't you go to Ben instead. I responded that if I had free sessions I would want to use them. The guy on the phone checked my insurance and was like... I don't see any amount you need to pay so it should be free, but they will call you the day before the appointment if it's not with an estimate and you can cancel then. No call, I check in the day of the appointment and ask the front desk, they say that nothing comes up that I owe anything. Now 5 sessions later I get a giant bill because it turns out, those free sessions didn't apply to this therapist and they backlogged my bills for over 3 months... When I go see my doctor, I get an estimate before the appointment and I get the bill within the same week. This place is incredibly shady, don't trust them if they say your insurance will pay for it.”
